Hi everyone,
Just a quick note to wish you a great St Patrick's Day! I may not be Irish but I'm proud when I see this little island and its culture being celebrated all over the world today.
I also wanted to take the opportunity to share a few words about a social media campaign ran by the Fáilte Ireland food champions (including yours truly) which celebrates Irish food on the day when Ireland is at the centre of international attention.
If you are enjoying a pint of Irish craft beer or cider, munching on Irish artisan cheeses, eating some delicious shellfish or cooking a beautiful Irish dish it would be great if you could share images on social media and join the #ThisisIrishFood conversation. You can follow This is Irish Food (ran by Fáilte Ireland food champions) on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
As you know Irish food isn't about green beer or crazy fluorescent green cakes as you may see all over the internet at this time of the year. So let's spread the word about the quality of our ingredients, the talent of our chefs and help change the perception of Irish food today!
This is something that is really close to my heart as a food tourism business owner and supporter of Irish food so I'd really appreciate if you could help. I'll leave you with this fantastic video from the Perennial Plate which really gave me goosebumps.
As always thanks for reading and happy St Patrick's Day!
